How Did I Forget to Write About My First Keynote?
There is an old saying,
“Life happens while you’re busy making other plans.”
Looking back, I could not agree more.
A few days ago, while organizing some of my professional documents, I came across an old email conversation that instantly transported me back to one of the most memorable milestones of my professional journey.
It was my First invitation to deliver a keynote at Synapse AI Hackathon 2024.
My immediate thought was,
“How did I forget to write about this on my blog?”
I genuinely could not believe it.
This was not just another speaking engagement.
It was my first keynote invitation, a milestone that marked an important chapter in my journey as a researcher, speaker, and AI professional.
Yet somehow, this story quietly remained untold.
It was not because the experience was any less meaningful.
Quite the opposite.
Soon after the event, life became even busier with research, publications, conferences, international travel, and new opportunities. Before I realized it, months had turned into years, and this wonderful memory had simply slipped through the cracks.
As they say, better late than never.
When Everything Happened at Once
March 2024 was one of the busiest months of my career.
At the time, I was preparing my research paper and presentation for an international conference in Barcelona, Spain. Every day was dedicated to research, revisions, presentation rehearsals, travel planning, and making sure every detail was ready.
Then one afternoon, an email arrived that immediately caught my attention.
The organizers of Synapse AI Hackathon 2024 invited me to deliver a keynote address.
Most people might have looked at their already packed schedule and politely declined.
My mind has never worked that way.
Whenever an opportunity allows me to share knowledge, interact with passionate learners, and contribute to the technology community, saying “no” becomes surprisingly difficult.
Sometimes, the best opportunities arrive when your schedule is already full.
You simply find a way to make room for them.
Choosing a Topic That Looked Beyond the Present
The organizers gave me complete freedom to choose the topic for my keynote, but it should be on AI.
Rather than speaking about something everyone was already discussing, I wanted to explore an area that I genuinely believed would become an important direction for Artificial Intelligence.
That topic became,
Adaptive Agentic AI Ecosystems
Back in early 2024, Agentic AI was still an emerging topic within the AI community.
Discussions around autonomous agents, governance, trust, accountability, safety, collaboration, and responsible AI were only beginning to gain momentum.
To me, it was far more than another technology trend.
It represented a new way of thinking about intelligent systems that can adapt, collaborate, and make decisions while operating responsibly.
Even today, I continue to believe that Adaptive Agentic AI Ecosystems will play an important role in future AI research, innovation, and real world deployment.
A Wonderful Audience
The organizers informed me that nearly 500 to 700 participants were expected to attend the keynote from more than 1,700 submissions received worldwide.
Knowing that the audience would include students, researchers, software developers, entrepreneurs, educators, and AI enthusiasts made the experience even more exciting.
Throughout the entire journey, the organizing team demonstrated exceptional professionalism.
From reviewing my presentation deck to coordinating the event schedule and ensuring every speaker felt comfortable before going live, every detail was managed thoughtfully.
Their dedication made the experience smooth, enjoyable, and memorable.
Thirty Minutes That Felt Like Ten
As soon as the session began, I became completely immersed in the discussion.
For nearly thirty minutes, we explored how autonomous AI agents could evolve into adaptive ecosystems capable of collaboration, contextual awareness, continuous learning, intelligent reasoning, and responsible decision making.
The conversation naturally extended into AI governance, ethics, transparency, and responsible innovation, topics that have become even more relevant today.
What I enjoyed most was the interactive question and answer session.
The audience asked thoughtful questions that reflected genuine curiosity rather than simply technical interest.
Those conversations reminded me why I enjoy public speaking just as much as conducting research.
Knowledge becomes far more valuable when it inspires meaningful conversations.
Sharing the Stage with Another Inspiring Speaker
One aspect I genuinely appreciated was sharing the keynote stage with Sushrutha, CTO at CloudTech.
His keynote focused on enterprise AI infrastructure and scalable AI solutions, offering valuable insights into how organizations can successfully adopt Artificial Intelligence.
While my session explored the future of intelligent autonomous systems, his presentation highlighted the engineering foundations required to build reliable and scalable enterprise AI.
Together, the two sessions provided participants with complementary perspectives on the future of Artificial Intelligence, from cutting edge research to practical implementation.
Why This Story Stayed Untold
After the event concluded, life became even busier.
Over the following months, my focus shifted toward research publications, conferences, international collaborations, speaking engagements, and several exciting professional opportunities.
Later that year, around November 2024, I resumed my blogging journey with a commitment to consistently share my experiences, research, conferences, and insights from the rapidly evolving world of Artificial Intelligence.
Yet somehow, this particular story never made it to my blog.
Not because I had forgotten its importance.
Rather, because life kept moving at an incredible pace.
Recently, while reviewing old emails and documents, I rediscovered the keynote invitation.
It reminded me that some stories deserve to be told, even if they are shared much later than originally intended.
After all, meaningful milestones never lose their significance.
Looking Ahead
Interestingly, while writing this blog, another exciting chapter is about to begin.
On 24 July 2026, I have the honour of joining the Global Association for Research and Innovation (GARI) as a Distinguished Speaker.
Over the past few weeks, several friends, researchers, and colleagues have asked me an interesting question.
“What is the difference between a Distinguished Speaker and a Keynote Speaker?”
It is an excellent question, and one that deserves its own discussion.
After completing the upcoming GARI event, I will share another blog reflecting on that experience and explaining the differences between these two speaking roles based on my own journey.
If you are interested in attending the upcoming GARI event and would like to know how to register or participate, please feel free to reach out to me. I would be happy to guide you in the right direction.
Until then, I would like to leave you with one simple thought.
Some of the most meaningful milestones are not always the ones we announce immediately.
Sometimes, they are the ones we rediscover years later and realize they quietly shaped our journey in ways we never fully appreciated at the time.
Thank you, Synapse AI Hackathon, for giving me the opportunity to contribute, learn, exchange ideas, and interact with such an inspiring community of innovators.
It may have been my first keynote invitation, but it certainly will not be the last story worth telling.
