The Award Frenzy
Lately, there’s a buzz in the air—awards, awards, awards! People are chasing them like they’re the golden ticket to success. Of course, receiving an award is a moment of pride; it’s a recognition of your hard work, dedication, and achievements. But here’s the catch—did you know you can actually buy an award? Yes, you heard that right. Some organizations will happily hand you a shiny trophy—not for your talent, but for a price.
At first, I thought this was a joke. But when I dug deeper, I realized how widespread this practice has become. Awards are no longer solely about merit; they’ve turned into a business model. And that, my friends, is a slap in the face for true achievers.
The Dark Side of Paid Awards
I recently received an award for my research analysis—one that was purely jury-nominated, with no payment involved. That recognition felt real, motivating, and well-earned. But soon after, I got a call from an organization claiming I was selected for a "prestigious award." Curious, I asked them how they found me and why I was being honored. Their response?
"Oh, we nominate everyone!"
That was my first red flag. When I probed further, they asked about my profile. Wanting to test their credibility, I said, "I do nothing. I just eat and sleep." Their reply?
"No problem! We have a special category for that too. Would you like Silver or Emerald? Just pay $300."
That was it—I was furious. When I refused, they tried convincing me that "an award will boost your confidence." But here’s the truth: confidence isn’t bought; it’s built.
To dig deeper, I searched for their details online and found that many people had fallen for this scam. Once they paid, the so-called organization vanished—numbers switched off, emails unanswered.
One of the major fraudsters running such scams is Global Empire Events Limited – World Leaders Summit. They lure people in with promises of international recognition, take their money, and then disappear.
These fraudsters are playing with people's emotions, filling their pockets while fooling the world.
Even the Movie Industry Isn’t Spared!
Sadly, this isn’t just happening in business or academia. The movie industry has also fallen into this trap. Once upon a time, awards in cinema were a mark of true excellence. But today, in many cases, the game has changed. Money, influence, and connections often decide who wins, not talent.
Actors, directors, and musicians who genuinely deserve recognition are often ignored, while those who can pay the price or please the right people walk away with trophies.
👉 How often do we see critically acclaimed performances getting snubbed?
👉 Why do some award winners feel undeserving when far better work is overlooked?
Because many of these so-called prestigious film awards are just another business venture. Pay the price, walk the red carpet, and hold the golden trophy—no hard work required.
This practice is robbing true artists of their moment. Genuine talent is being overshadowed by manufactured success.
A Lesson from My Childhood
Back in school, my friends would win awards in sports and chess based purely on their talent. I used to feel left out, wondering why I wasn’t getting any. But my father, Krishna Rao Akula, a senior manager at ONGC ,gave me wisdom that stayed with me:
"Life is long. Your time will come. Success is not about rushing to get recognition—it’s about growing into the person worthy of it."
He encouraged me to cheer for my friends, bring them home, and celebrate their victories. Instead of being bitter, I learned to be happy for others.
But then came another challenge—exams. Some of my classmates copied answers and scored better than me. I worked hard, studied late into the night, yet they walked away with the top ranks. It frustrated me, but my father noticed and said:
"Shortcuts may win the race today, but real success is built on effort, not trickery. Your time will come, and when it does, no one can take it from you."
That mindset shaped my journey. Today, I am achieving meaningful milestones, driven by innovation and integrity—not shortcuts and scams.
Why Do People Buy Awards?
So, why are people obsessed with awards? Society has created this illusion that awards define success. Some believe an award will:
✅ Boost their credibility
✅ Help them get promotions or deals
✅ Make them appear more accomplished
But here’s the brutal truth: a paid award is a hollow trophy. When you buy an award, you’re not fooling others—you’re fooling yourself. Real success doesn’t come from a transaction; it comes from transformation.
Recognize Yourself Before Seeking Recognition
Your time will come. You don’t need to buy an award to prove your worth. The right opportunities, people, and moments will align when you genuinely deserve them.
Let’s expose these fake award schemes and protect people from emotional and financial exploitation. If you come across any such scams, share them—let’s create awareness.
Remember: A purchased trophy gathers dust, but a well-earned achievement shines forever.
Let’s be real. Let’s be ethical. Let’s be unstoppable.
